Application Concept

With the corona virus afoot, I was instructed to design a smartphone application that allows a community of people to stay connected while social distancing. The criteria was as follows: pick a country, pick an animal from that country, pull one key feature from that animal and relate it back to a key feature of the country, and then create an app for that commnuity.

I chose to focus in on New Zealand, as I've always been fascinated by it. I chose the iconic kiwi bird, whose defining characteristic is its unique appearance. Stumpy legs, hair like feathers, and one inch wings is what sepearates the kiwi from any other bird. New Zealand has a prominent Theatre community, so I thought it fitting to create kiwtThreads for New Zealand costume designers to stay connected and share cosutme ideas during quarantine.

The last step was using Sketch, to design the app's interface. The app has a discovery page, forum feature, and a sketching platform.
